Prof. Dr. Karl-Dieter Entian

Prof. Dr. Karl-Dieter Entian, born 1952, studied biology at the Technical University in Darmstadt. After several years as an assistant and a Heisenberg scholar at the Physiological and Chemical Institute of Tübingen University he was in 1988 appointed to be Professor for Molecular Genetics at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe-University in Frankfurt/Main. Since 1993 he has been the holder of the Chair for Microbiology in Frankfurt. Prof. Dr. Entian is a co-founder and scientific advisor of the Scientific Research and Development GmbH (www.srd-biotec.de). He has been the Director of the Institute for Microbiology for several years and was the Dean of the Faculty for Biology in 1998/99 and the Faculty of Biology and Computer Science in 2000/01.
