Mission

Phenion GmbH & Co. KG, a wholly owned subsidiary of Henkel KGaA, is a bio-research company engaged in the development, promotion and utilization of non-animal test methods to support the Henkel product portfolio worldwide.

As a center of excellence in skin physiology, Phenion makes use of a variety of biological models including its in-house in vitro human skin model, as well as clinical product evaluation methods to assure both product safety and efficacy.

Through active collaborations with leading research groups around the world, Phenion is committed to its role as reference center for the implementation of intelligent testing strategies based on alternatives to animal testing methods in the consumer product industry.
