Dr. Andrea Sättler

Dr. Andrea Sättler, born 1963, studied biology at the University of Düsseldorf. She received her PhD in 1992 in the field of physical biology. Her thesis addressed random mutagenesis and screening methods for thermostabilized technical enzymes. In 1993 she started her industrial career at Novozymes A/S (former Novo Nordisk A/S) in Denmark in the field of enzyme screening. In 1996 she joined "Cognis Gesellschaft für Biotechnologie mbH" in Düsseldorf, a former subsidiary company of Henkel KGaA, as a project manager. In 1998 she joined the central research of Henkel and hold positions in the department of enzyme technology, as project manager for new business projects, e.g. in the field of fast and specific detection methods for skin microbes. In 2003 she took over the position as Technical Director of Phenion in Frankfurt/Main. In June 2004 she was appointed General Manager of Phenion. General Manager Phenion GmbH & Co.
